I have a box of cereal that I used to eat before I went on Heather's diet. This is a hot cereal that used to help me poop when I was C. The cereal is called "Oat Bran" (it's a Quaker product) and the ingredients are simply, oat bran!
I'm a little stumped because on the box it says it's a good source of soluble fiber but it's called oat BRAN.
Anyone know of this cereal? Soluble or insoluble? Safe for IBS - A???

Oat bran is soluble fiber, most other whole grains, like whole wheat are insoluble. But if you are like me, I can tolerate most bran and wheat products and they help keep me regular.
If you find that they don't cause cramping or an attack, and help keep you regular, I would say they are safe for you. Everyone is different and you just have to kind of pick and choose what works for you best.
Hope that helps! I eat oat bran cereal, Millet Rice, and am fine! I try to get my fiber through the foods I eat. It is good to stay away from wheat bran based ones...they can be too hard on the tummy. Oatmeal is probably your best bet.

Thank you both for your quick responses! I'll check out the link Bev - THAKS! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
I also learned how to get the computer to email me when a reply has been posted to my "favourite" threads - that saves tons of time in scanning! I'll learn how to use these Message Baords (in a do-able way, time wise!) yet!
