okay - so i'm still a newbie trying to figure this all out. i read a thread where someone else (Jules? i can't remember now) asked what they were doing wrong because they were still c after following the diet. i seem to be having the same problem and i too am afraid to eat fruit and veggies, bran muffins, etc. so i got some good advice there.
i then read the reminder about eating the soluble fiber first - do i need to always eat the soluble fiber first then i can eat the insoluble to help my poop regularly?
my usual problem is i'm c for days (up to 6 or 7) then i eat something that sends me over the edge and i have an attack and have d feel naseous, pain etc.
i'm starting to panic now because i haven't had a good poop in a few days and i think i've been following the diet drinking tons of water, walking daily.

Hey there...
you should always base every meal on soluble fibre...and eat it first to cushion whatever else you're eating.
You need to make sure you add enough insoluble fibre with your meal as well...or else it's not gonna help your C all that much.
Are you taking a fibre supplement?? That's always super important too and helps TUNS!!
Hope you feel better!!

sounds like you are doing ok....i am C too.
you NEED to take fiber suppliments...fibercon or whatever your weapon of choice is. not only that this diet takes a little longer to work on C's that D's. I'm on the end of my second week and still a little C, but the Fibercon helps like nobody's business!
i've honestly been following this diet to the letter even though i have cut out some of the foods that make me go (like pineapple) and while it is still difficult to go, i still have somewhat regular bowel movements...way more regular than before.
you gotta just throw away some preconcieved notions about stuff and follow this plan and in a couple of weeks you will be doing fine....its not an overnight thing though.
stick to it you'll get there

Hi Ana Maria (wow, what a pretty name!),
Yes, you need the soluble fiber first as a "base." If you read my post this morning (with that subject line) you'll see I keep making that mistake -- and suffering for it afterwards.
I can't help much with C because I'm a D. However, I do have a suggestion for you.
I don't know how long you've been on the program, but you should be able to add in fruits and veggies by chopping and pulverizing them as much as possible. Throw some favorite fruits in a smoothie: banana, peaches, honey and soy milk. Chop up your favorite veggies and throw them in with some chicken or vegetable stock and make soup. Vegetable soup always makes me poop -- ALWAYS -- but then, sometimes anything makes me poop.
Blueberries also make me go, BIG TIME. You can throw them into a smoothie. I like the frozen wild blueberries; easy to keep on hand for pancakes or smoothies.
I make my own chicken stock and freeze it in serving-size containers, then I have it on hand to make "instant" veggie soup. I throw in some celery, onion, carrots, potatoes, and peas. It's never bothered me (except make me poop).
But with anything -- ANYTHING -- I always have a dinner roll beforehand. Now I have just a half dinner roll (except for those stupid times when I forget, like last night, like the dummy that I am! )

Thanks everyone for your help. ok - i think i'm getting it s-l-o-w-l-y!
i'm taking acacia as my fiber supplement - i'm up to one tablespoon before breakfast and dinner and 1/2 tablespoon before lunch. shouldn't that be enough to help me poop daily? is fibercon the same type of supplement?
so - if i understand correclty i should eat soluble first. so if i'm having chicken breast with veggies and rice i should eat some of the rice first. if i'm having a snack i should eat the bread first then have the fruit. if i'm having a sandwhich i can eat both (turkey breast with avocado on french stick?) at the same time?
i'm feeling a little daft these days!

The Acacia (as well as any fibre supplement) is pretty much useless unless you're drinking lots and lots of water.
So if you're not drinking lots of water that may explain why you're still not regular.
Drink up!!
