I am wondering if scientist need to keep researching this subject. It runs in my mother's and father's family. It may be we just have whimpy GI tracts and are more prone to such problems.

I've had IBS for almost 4 years, my mom and my youngest brother were just diagnosed last year, and my middle brother is starting to show symptoms. I don't know, maybe something in the water?

My Mum's got a pretty good stomach, although my Dad actually has Crohn's which IS hereditary. However the GI I saw was pretty sure what I had wasn't Crohn's.
