Hello everyone!! I was so busy this weekend I didn't even get a chance to come on the boards!! I must tell you though...I went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon and found a huge section of soy products and Gluton free products at Loblaws (I think they only have those stores in Canada...so if you're a fellow canadian then YAY!!)....they had a HUGE selection of things there and I grabbed a bunch of new stuff to try...I'm so excited!!
Also...I tried to make those rice krispy treats and they didn't turn out as I had hoped. I think I didn't heat the marshmellows enough so they were too sticky and the rice kripys didn't mix in properly.
No big deal...I'll try again another day!!
I also went ALL weekend without an IBS attack!! YAY FOR ME!!

Happy Monday to you too, Kimm! Isn't it exciting finding new safe products?? Our local supmarket has a "Nature's Marketplace" that has all that organic and soy stuff, and I could spend hours in there, literally. I love wandering around and checking it all out. I also usually spend way too much money trying things out... but that's another story.
Congrats on being attack-free this weekend. Yay!

Kim, I am so happy for you! I had a pretty good weekend, I was much better than I was during the week. I am still having trouble staying away from the wrong foods. I am starting today going GF. Not because I am celiac but wheat products cause me to overeat, and that causes me to have an IBS attack.
So, I wanted to ask you Kim, what foods do you exclude? Wheat, Dairy, Sugar, Fat??? What is your list. I am trying to create a list for me to follow.

Yes, YAAY for you! No attack all weekend is a GOOD WEEKEND! YIPPEE!
It's fun to find a good store that carries all your faves.
You're doing so well, aren't you? This is good stuff here. Me thinks perhaps you're about to have a good week too.
Yaay!

Hello there!! Congrats on having a good weekend too!
Here are the foods I exclude:
dairy fat (except for tiny amounts in soy ice cream, soy milk, etc) red meat cooking oils (unless I go out somewhere then I ask for just a tiny bit) very little sugar (although I could never exclude it entirely!!)
That's pretty much it!! Doesn't really sound like much I'm excluding but my diet before this was TERRIBLE!!
I would have McDonald's a couple times a week...drink at least one can of coke every day, eat whatever junk was around, etc.
I was 5'3 and 140 pounds!! I didn't look that big but I carried it all around my belly....
Now I'm 130 pounds and feeling soooo much better!! If I lost 10 more then I would be at my ideal weight...but I'm not gonna push it....it's more important to me that I am feeling healthy and happy than to weigh 120 pounds. Like I said previously...losing 10 pounds was just a bonus to this new diet because I didn't set out to lose weight in the first place....
Anyway...I'm blabbing now....good luck with your diet!! Keep up posted on how you're doing!!

Hi Kimm, Oooh, I am so excited to hear that stuff is so easy to find in Canada. I am more eager to get back home now!! Do you happen to know if they have Loblaws in Vancouver? I haven't heard of it before... Although I went to school with a girl who's last name was Loblaw... Uh, anyway. Yay on an attack free weekend! I had one too! And I am feeling not too bad today as well. Hopefully it will be an attack free week as well, wouldn't that be wonderful?? Fellow Canuck, excited about shopping, --Steph

Hey there!! YES...an attack free week would definately be wonderful!!
I'm pretty sure they have Loblaws in every province....but I can't be completely sure. I bet they have a website you can go to and locate their stores.....
Good luck!!

Hello! I'm from Ontario and I wanted to let you know that I believe the company Loblaws has stores out in the BC area, but I believe they go under a different name than Loblaws (but should still carry the same stuff). I love my Loblaws here, they have almost as good of a selection of soy and other health food products than the health food stores in my city! I was actually looking on Loblaws website and I got the impression that Loblaws owns the Real Canadian Superstore which you can find out west...here's their website if you want to check it out: http://www.loblaw.com/ Good luck! Kelly
