I was reading some old threads on peppermint and how great is is for people with D...I'm IBS-A and I'm worried that if I take peppermint pills then it will make my C worse...is this true?

Nope, no worries! Peppermint is a smooth muscle relaxant and pain killer. It will help with GI spasms, cramps, bloating, gas, and pain. It can help reduce/prevent both diarrhea and constipation that result from the IBS cramping, but it won't turn constipation to diarrhea or vice versa. If you take it when you're stable you'll just stay that way.

kimm,
I can vouch for the peppermint. I started taking it about 2 weeks ago and the results have been fantastic. I had to travel last week, which included a 3+ hour flight. While I had a lot of concern since I generally suffer from D, I had no problems on the flight or the week long trip. I have been taking tha acacia fiber supplement as well for the past two weeks and either of the two or a combination have brought me REGULAR relief. I feel like a real person most of the time now. Thanks again to Heather and all others who use this post.

Joner
