Okay ever since Ive had Ibs, ive literally been afraid of fruit! It seems like fruit never agrees with me so i always stay away from it. Well, my mom bought bananas the other day and ive heard from heather that they are okay for ibs. i was shaking when i unpeeled it, because i was so afraid that it woould send me in a spiral of attacks, but i did it. i only ate half, but i enjoyed every last minute of it and it tasted delicious, and viola! No attacks. the only side effect was that i kept on burping up a banana taste... lol. okay.... thanks you guys for listening, i am not a banana conquorer!

BRAVO! I felt the same way when I overcame my fear and just took MiraLax, the laxative my doc. prescribed, after 4 anxious hours two nights ago (still no BM--yikes)! You should be VERY proud!!! It's not always easy to overcome these fears--but you did it! Way to go Angela!!! ![](/messageboards/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif)

Angela, Now you've conquered a banana you should try Heather's banana smoothie recipe it is really nice. I use the following amounts to make one serve.
1 banana 1/2 cup frozen strawberries (you could leave these out if you are worried about fruit it's still nice without them. Also nice with peaches.) 1 cup vanilla soy milk 2 tsp honey.
Enjoy Kerrie
