Ok so if I just take the cheese of the pizza would it be safe to eat? We ordered the thin crust. If I take off all the cheese and eat the crust and tomato sauce do you think it would be ok?
Thanks!

Steph, why do you have to go there? Wouldn't your family enjoy some IBS-friendly restaurant for your sake? (There ARE such things as IBS-friendly restaurants, aren't there?)
Well, you could try removing all the cheese -- and the ham -- and the pork sausage -- and the hamburger -- and AND AND -- but do you want to? What will the family say as they sit there, watching you pick everything off your pizza?
To avoid all that, I think I'd slip a small bottle of JD in my purse. No, no, I'M JUST KIDDING! -- I'm KIDDING! But what if you took a plain bagel with you and chomped on it at the table? Wouldn't that be better than sitting there, picking all kinds of stuff off your pizza and feeling (and looking) like a picky eater? Maybe you could even order a salad (take your own dressing in case they don't have low-fat) and have it after your plain bagel?
Let us know how it goes.
Bev

Hi Bev,
Dominos delivers! We just order in! I had spagettie and a few tiny peices of pizza. Just took of the cheese! Cheese and pinnapple! So it was no biggie! When we go out to dinner we always go somewhere safe!
Thanks Bev!

Can you order Dominos half with no cheese? That's what I've been doing with our local pizza joint. Shell got me hooked on it. I order half cheese/pepperoni (for Chris) and half no cheese and mushrooms (my fav ). BTW - I get extra sauce too, because without the grease from the cheese (ew!), it can get kinda dried out. Anyway, while that's on it's way, I heat up the oven and when it gets here, sprinkle my soy cheese on my half, pop it in the oven for a few minutes, then chow down! OMG - it's so good! You should try it!

Hey Mags, That does sound good! What brand of soy cheese do you get? Have you ever tried Rice cheese?
Thanks for the Idea!

I've been using the Veggie Shreds, in the green bag. I have used rice cheese. I actually like that better, but I have to go to Whole Foods to get that, and the soy stuff is at my regular grocery store, so it's just more convenient.
BTW - If you ever get the rice mozzarella cheese, try Baked Mozzarella Sticks . They are so good - even my fiance can't tell they're rice cheese with this recipe!

Steph you can enjoy pizza at the famous pizza places have them make you a personal pizza. I get them to do it all the time. Order a thin crust pizza and if they have veggie pizza's or pizza with chicken add your own ingredients. I can't do pizza sauce at all or tomato sauces. So I get chicken, zucchini, mushrooms no sauces or cheese and it's not dry at all. tr it next time your out having pizza with the family. Pack your own soy parmesan grated cheese and add it on. Be careful of places like pizza hut their crust are quite buttery. Also if the serve sandwiches or subs, order a chicken grilled on a sub. Have a good time tonight. Sherri

I'm new at this, so sorry if this sounds dumb
So, if my family goes to a pizza place, I can eat pizza, if I order one with just the crust, pizza sauce (pizza sauce is OK?), veggies and chicken?
I like Bev's idea about bringing a bagel . We went out to eat (Mexican) after church on Sunday, and I just couldn't figure out what to eat so I didn't order anything and ate later at home. I know I will get better at choosing the right items while at a restaurant, but for now, it still seems kind of overwhelming.
thanks, Janet

No question is dumb around here!
If you can tolerate the sauce, then yup, you can order pizza with no cheese, veggies & chicken. It's really good! We have our pizza at home, so I've been adding soy cheese to mine.
And, at Mexican places, you can order fajitas with minimal oil, extra tortillas. Just done't use the sour cream & cheese. I get them at Mexican restaurants all the time.
Oh, and I always have a couple of Fibercon while I'm waiting for my meal at any restaurant.

I know, when I typed that, I was thinking tomorrow (now today yay! lol) might be a good day to go out and get some fajitas.
