Hi again,
I've been thumbing through the threads all day but I cant seem to find it again, so maybe you guys can help. Iseem to have read somewhere that I Can't Believe Its Not Butter was a decent sub for getting a butter fix(to use it for things like noodles and fat-free waffles). I picked up the light version and was wondering if someone could either point me to the post or can tell me here if its wise to try(even when I used real butter, it wasnt a lot so using it sparingly isnt an issue)
Thanks

-Joe

I don't know of a specific post. If you do a search, you'll probably get lots of results. Some people can tolerate I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Personally, I can't. I get all bloated & gassy from it. I can tolerate Soy Garden just fine though and that's what I use.

I tried to find something like that, but in my relatively small town(Pace, FL-near Pensacola) I couldnt find it(and might have missed it, too). But I'll try it in a small dose and see. Thanks for the info-I'll look into locating the Soy Garden

If you do try looking for it, try in the produce section. That's where I always find it in any store I go to. I've never seen it with the regular dairy butters/margarines.

Hi,

My system doesn't tolerate "like butter" substitutes. I seem best with a corn oil margarine or Fleishman's original which has mainly corn oil. And I use it sparingly. I did use a safflower margarine which was the most compatible, but I cannot find it anywhere.

Hello, The post was on the I cant believe its not butter spray. I don't think the tub of it is safe. The spray is however. It has no calories,fat..etc. Try that out. The tubs are full of hydroginated oils and buttermilk!

Here is the post I just found it... web page
I use the spray and do fine with it!

Good luck!

Thanks-I'll look into it.

I seem to tolerate a small amount of diary anyway-weird considering what stuff I'm more sensitive to(like oatmeal), but I try to avoid what I can.

I'm the same way...no problems with a teeny, tiny bit of butter. BTW, did you know that if you clarify butter it then is not considered dairy (just fat) because the whey has been removed?

No, I did not. Thats handy to know. I usually only use butter to flavor some stuff, and if I can find a low fat alternative, that'll work out well.
Im still gonna avoid it when I can, but I'll file that knowledge away for later.
