I have IBS (and they are about to check to rule out other stuff) and have read this board many times and really want to work on my diet to try and get better. I need to do this or I am about to truly lose my sanity this time. I am sick of not living my life because of this. I have been through 3 major depressive episodes due to this vicious cycle. By vicious cycle I mean that I will not go out in case my stomach or ENDO act up. I will not accept dinner invitations or concert tickets etc incase I am too far from a bathroom etc. SOOOOOOOOO I do not go and then spend my tme hating myself for not going and feeling so isolated from life. SOOOO the IBS gets worse due to self inflicted stress.

I am a limited eater to begin with but would love someone to work with on daily eating plans and someone to chat with on email or soemthing

Just trying to tie an knot in my rope and hang on

CK

How about TONS of buddies instead of one? There are lots of people here to help you out.

Have you read Heather's books yet? You've been reading the boards, so you get the basic gist?

I'd like to suggest the hypno cd's. They are a TREMENDOUS help with the anxiety of leaving the house. I know, because I've done them, and I never went anywhere for the fear of an attack either.

Let us know what questions you have so you can get started!

Welcome to the board!!

Yes as MAGS said you'll have tons of buddies here. How about starting with the Break the Cycle diet for 2-3 days?

I recently used the group as support as I counted up to 14 whole days, 2 weeks without an attack of D. They were great cheerleaders and I am SO grateful to them.

Keep coming back!

Welcome, CK!

You have a buddy here -- you have LOTS of buddies here -- ALL OF US. We've all been there, YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN THIS!

I lost my job over IBS because I could no longer go to the office without spending the entire day in the bathroom. I've lost friends over my IBS, I've been on antidepressants, and I've had extreme anxiety where I was completely home-ridden, afraid to leave the house. I've had it ALL!

You might ask, how did I get better? Glad you asked. I got better when I found these boards -- and Michael. Michael is the hypnotherapist (see the hypno board) whose program a lot of us have gone through. He got me over my anxiety and able to leave my home and join the living once more.

I still have problems with social events, but I've gotten a lot better and learned how to work around eating situations -- thanks to this Board!

Get Heather's books and follow the program. Stay with us in the boards, and ask ANY and ALL questions you might have -- don't be shy, we've all had to share our most personal and embarrassing problems, but that's how we've gotten better -- we got ANSWERS. You will too.

Welcome, CK!

Bev
