"Bev, I just tried to cut-and-paste this on the board and my computer wouldn't let me....if you would do me the favor if your computer will let you and cut and paste this e-mail on the boards, I would REALLY appreciate it!
I TRULY didn't mean to worry anyone....I feel awful! I think I've been trying to avoid things lately. I've ben going shopping A LOT (not with money, with my eyes) as an escape. I can't keep thinking and doing research about what's wrong...I need to LIVE! I've also been trying to get an at-home job. I put an ad in the community classifieds here as a tutor. I hope I get some bites! I am also going to help with fundraising for a Charity org. by making phone calls at home. I've been going through a LOT of emotions! And I don't know how to deal with them... I AM doing Mike's hypno tapes....second go-around! I feel like I'm doing all the right things..... I am going to call a referral service today and make an appointment with an immunologist and an allergist. I hope that whoever I am referred to will spend time answering my questions...I've got lots! I still believe there is an underlying cause of all my body's malfunctions lately. I'm not a doc......but I'm an experienced patient! I truly feel it is my immune system gone crazy and the culprit is allergies. I'm going to go ahead and post this on the boards....you convinced me! I'm not exactly sure why I felt I couldn't post....I DO know avoidance was a big part of it. I feel like the board is a place I go to face things.....
I am SO SORRY to everyone on the boards that was worried for me......that was NOT my intention! *tears welling up in my eyes* I don't know what I'm dealing with here.....but it's painful and scary! My hubby and I had a talk last night about why I'm overeating the past few months (since I've been rally sick). We realize it is emotional based. We DON'T know what to do about it. Some of the things causing me to eat emotionally are my illness...something I can't control. We're going to try to figure out what to do to get me help. A diet isn't the solution....that is just a "cure" of the symptom. Getting to the heart of the emotions I am dealing with and learning to cope with my personal situation is really what will help me get better!
Love with all my heart, Ruchie"

HI Ruchie,
So sorry you've been so sick. I feel a lot the way you do. I never feel good. I also had sinus problems about a year ago. I was sick for 4 months with it. I had streap, mono, and a sinus infection. I one cold after another, sore throat after another...etc!! I was on 4 different antibiotics. It finaly went away after we found the real problem..sinus infections only respond to certain drugs. I was miserable. I had headaches and earaches to no end. So I really feel bad for you. I hope things get better for you. I'm also going to go to an alergist and see if I have alergies. One day we'll feel better!!
Until then were lucky to have the boards! They really do help.
Good luck, I really hope you get feeling better!
Welcome back!

So what meds DID help you? I've been on Levaquin, Amoxicillin, Z-pak...those were the antibiotics. Now I'm on Augmentin and Amoxicillin. I'm also taking Afrin nasal spray, Astelin nasal spray, and Flonase nasal spray...allegra and singulari as well. I'm glad you got better! Did they find out WHY you were getting so many infections?
Thanks again for your post!
*hugs*

Ruchie, You mentioned your concern about your emotion-based overeating. A friend of mine was really helped by Overeaters Anonymous. Just a thought... (((((((((((((BIG HUG))))))))))))))))))

I'm sorry you've been suffering and I sincerely hope that things start to improve for you soon.
I too retreat and withdraw when things get too bad. Strangely, if I'm in terrible pain, I can't stand to have others around me, no matter how kind or helpful they may be - I have to deal with it alone. Not sure why - perhaps that's a weakness on my part, or maybe just the way I deal with things, like retreat to draw on my inner reserves.
Anyway, I'm pleased to see your beautiful smiling face back with us. Shells

Shells, Me too on withdrawing when I'm in pain or upset. It's like I have to process it a while before I can stand to let others in. I don't think it's a weakness, more like a shock absorber for the soul!

I've made some friends in my new town here! We went shoe shopping last week and today we went out for lunch (I bought garlic bread sticks for $1.50....but it was yummy as could be and all I could afford!) I got to see one of my students from last year who lives in my new town! It was so COOL to see her! Last night I went to a lecture...it was VERY inspirational, and I came home feeling good...
We had some test results doen by an immunologist I decided to go to last week. I went on Thur. and got the tests done at a lab. We should have the results in 2 weeks. Waiting is hard...so I'm trying to keep occupied.
I can't wait to be well again so my hubby and I can begin talking about me getting pregnant, G-d willing! I've waited all my life to be a mom.....so I hope I'll get to be one soon. It's great working with other people's kids....but I want my own!
Thank you to EVERYONE for all the prayers and well-wishes! I know I've been up and down a lot lately...I'm trying to get it all together. It's scary not knowing what's wrong with you...but I think we've all experienced this having IBS and not knowing what it was. So I know y'all can relate...
I'll keep you posted and let you know when I get the results. Thanks SO MUCH for caring!
Love,
Ruchie

I hope I make a good mom! And I hope you're right...that I'll get to be one some day SOON!
My friends here make such a HUGE difference! I feel so lucky to have them here! Being the people person that I am...staying at home is NOT for me! LOL I was going stir-crazy in our little apartment! So now I use my energy up to go out and just make myself happy. We're low on money...but at least my spirits are high! That'll help me fight whatever I have best...and hopefully work will come soon (no replies to my ad as a tutor yet).
I can't thank you enough for your support and all your "yay"s! They make me want to jump up and dance! LOL
Thanks Kree!

You are SO RIGHT! Practise does make perfect! I try very hard to remind myself of this when I long for a baby of my own...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But you just keep reminding me and I'll be able to focus on this a little better for next time!
I hope things are well with you suzyq! (Love your name btw! It's adorable!)
Love ya back

Hi, Ruchie,
Glad you're feeling better! Overeaters Anonymous is a twelve step program. Check the white pages for a listing. If you can't find it there, look for a listing for Alcoholics Anonymous, or for Al Anon, which is the program for friends and families of alcoholics. They often have information on other twelve step programs. I can highly recommend them based on my own personal experience and that of friends and family. It not only has saved my life, it has improved my quality of life to a level of serenity and happiness I never dreamed possible before.
What they do is help people overcome the compulsive need to overeat or drink or gamble or whatever by working what's called the Twelve Steps in meetings that are kind of like support groups. There is no fee or cost and no requirements or rules. They have lots of helpful literature and information. The main message is you don't have to do it alone -- there are lots of people there who have successfully overcome the same problem and are willing to share their experience, strength and hope (much like this board!)
Let me know if you find a listing locally. They may also be on the internet -- just do a search. Bless you and thanks for your kind words.
