I find that if I get a good night's sleep I feel better in the AM and can eat usually english muffin and cereal or Egg beaters. Nothing huge but I'm always starving in the AM. However if I am really tired I get really nauseated and have to force down a piece of toast to get to feeling better.
I can remember having to wake up at 3am to leave for my honeymoon and I was sooooo tired I could barely pack from being so nauseated! I ended up forgetting to pack my makeup! That feeling finally went away once I got some food in my stomach but wow that was hard to do feeling so sick.

I also prefer a light breakfast. But I can't go without either -- very bad news...

I always a eat a light breakfast too! It's tough sometimes when I have to go somewhere and don't want to get hungry, but I also feel uncomfortable when I eat too much that early in the morning. I usually I end up eating something light like a piece of toast and then bringing along a muffin and eating it midmorning. I thought it was just a weird me thing... I never thought it might be the IBS! Interesting.

Heavy foods in the morning? EW. Too often I wake up, nauseated, and all I can think of is hanging my head over the porcelain bowl. Heavy foods? ANY kind of food? EW.
This morning, I barely managed to brew myself up some acacia-fennel-peppermint tea and sip it slowly. It settled my tummy, I had a good poop, and bingo bango, I'm good to go -- ready for my pancakes and turkey sausage!

Hello Bev, I can't help but smile when read "Bingo Bango". That and when you talk about beating the tar out of your insoluble veggies. Go get em'!!!

I eat my breakfast in shifts. Meaning that since i'm always starving when i wake up i eat half a bagel then go get ready and then i'll eat the other half before headin out. I find that the best for my tummy. I can NEVER skip breakfast tho...if i do i'll get D

I can't take heavy foods in the morning at all either. Sometimes I have some really early mornings, in which case I won't have anything right away (even a little bit can bother me), but by about mid morning I've usually gotten my appetite back.
We used to have flights where we'd get called really early in the morning and fly to Winnipeg, (the closest big city). We'd no doubt always end up heading to an all you can eat buffet once we got there.... big mistake.

I LIKE A GOOD hot breaky of rice porridge and maybe half a bagel. Although, since starting acacia I find that the bagel is too much. Iget a REALLY tight tummy and itis quite uncomfortable.

I mix the acacia in a glass of boiling water, add Heather's peppermint and her fennel, and a little sugar, and it makes a nice cup of tea, which I sip FIRST thing in the morning on an empty stomach -- and again in the evening before dinner.
I don't know about the acid reflux problem; perhaps someone else here can help you with that.

I find a bowl of oatmeal is just right! And of course a ton of water!
