I'm with you, Kandee, that's one of my favorite snacks! As a funny aside, I once tried to feed a bit of rice cake to my mother's dog. She'd eat ANYTHING, but refused to eat the rice cake. It did NOT qualify as food in her opinion!! It was so funny, my mom and I laughed about it for months.

LauraSue (the nut),
So poochie didn't like styro-cakes either? That's hilarious. I have friends, and relatives that would eat ANYTHING other than rice cakes. They think it is a terrorist plot.

Personally, I just use soy milk in recipes. I don't really like the taste of it and it makes me seriously bloated. I for the most part just drink water. The soy seems to go over well, in small quantities, when I put it in a recipe.

YES!!!!! There is such thing as light peanut butter and yes, it is safe for most in small quantities. For example, I have a piece of toast for breakfast with a small amount of PB. NO problem! For those of you missing it, I posted a thai pasta recipe with a wicked but safe peanut sauce ..... YES! Have your PB and enjoy it!

Thanks to everyone for all the ideas! I will definately use soy in cooking, but not drink much if any. My husband and I are going to put more fish in our diets, so that will help and as far as peanut butter - well, I must get braver before I venture there!!!

Hi - Don't be afraid to gradually add soy milk to your diet, including drinking it.
Beans (including soy) contain raffinose, a natural sugar. If you're used to eating them, your body produces plenty of the digestive enzymes needed for raffinose, and you won't get any gas or bloating at all. But, if you never ever eat beans or soy, you're going to have to go very carefully if want to start. Your body will gradually start digesting the raffinose, and eventually you shouldn't have problems. Go slow, and try using Beano with every meal - that will really help.
It's worth increasing your tolerance to soy as it will allow you a lot of flexibility in cooking, and is also a good source of protein.
