Debby, I know just what you mean about that "you used to be able to do it" mentality! My friends have actually all been really great about my limitations, but it's actually me who feels frustrated about things sometimes. For example, a friend invited me out on Friday night, and my first thought was panic that she was going to say we were going to a bar! Luckily she knows me well and suggested going out after dinner, not for dinner, and just hanging out at the mall. But sometimes I just wish I could do the things I used to be able to do. Anyway, I'm the one venting now, but I just feel like I've been forced to get old before my time. But you're right, it's a good thing we have each other! You guys are all wonderful.

I think she was kidding? But it is confusing. People need to remember that we IBS suffers can be short tempered sometimes because we don't feel well, and that what we think are jokes don't always translate across the internet. This is why we have all of the little faces to help out!

I'm still going to assume she's kidding because who could possibly get offended at punctuation?

Maybe it's a language barrier thing.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so that is a little helpful! I am having a hard time staying positive. My husband made the comment this morning, well your tummy wasn't this bad when we got married! Is that to mean he wouldn't have married me if it was?? The last year as been a bad tummy year. I follow the diet, exercise, drink a ton of water, take my fiber, blah, blah, blah...

Am I ever going to feel better? I actually have blisters on my tumme from sleeping with the heating pad everynight!! I'm tired of my clothes not fitting, tired of being STINKY! Just plian sick and tired...

Ok, enough. I have a cruise to look forward to next month

It does help hearing your stories, I wish NONE of us had to suffer this, nut at least we can suffer together! THANKS!

Hi Michele,
My husband just said the same thing to me the other day. It really hurts to hear that! Like it's something we can control or maybe it's just all in our head. It's a struggle every day to be positive and deal with the emotional effects it has on our family.

Hello Bev and Chinagrl, Gosh maybe she was kidding???? Okay so if she was kidding I take it all back and apologize profusely about what I said before - if she wasn't kidding well then I should be the bigger person and not be so harsh even if she is sometimes. Ugh moving on now....

Michele I haven't been replying too often, but I know what you are going through.

My husband hasn't a problem admitting that I have IBS and GERD's, because he saw the pictures of my insides. He doesn't buy into the diet changes as much as me. He like everything to go back to the way it was and it never will.

He is getting better about my diet and trying to fix dinner knowing I can't eat certain things. He doesn't give me a hard time anymore about not eating the pizza he ordered or not eating one of his famous hamaburgers.
The funny thing is he still doesn't know I made biscuits over the weekend using soy and all my muffins are made with soy milk. What he doesn't know won't hurt him!!!

Hang in there with your husband. He needs more time to accept your condition and I'm sure there are concerns with you trying to have a baby soon. I doubt very much he wouldn't have married you if your stomach problems were worse before marriage.

hI angelkitty; i know what you mean,I seem to be always thinking about my stomach I bore myself to deatrh not to mention those around me. So, I try to keep it to myself more these days unless I am having a particularly bad day, in which case I can't help but talk about it.
