Diagnosed 5 mos. ago. Changed diet approximately 3 weeks ago from no carbs to carbs (bread, pasta, rice, potatoes) and have noticed a 5 lb. weight gain (not good!) Have any of you experienced this and did you eventually lose it? Any suggestions? (My meal portions are average to small). Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi, welcome to the boards. I'm sorry about your diagnosis and weight gain, misery on top of misery, huh?
I wish I could offer you advice on the diet thing, but I've never even dared try the no carb diet. I weigh more than I would like to, and look like I weigh a lot more when bloated! But I'd rather weigh a little more and eat foods that don't make me miserable.
So, I don't have much to help you with, but I wanted to say hi anyway.

Are you eating a lot of the sweet breads (banana, etc.) or cakes? I was wondering if the sugar may be bumping up your calories?

Hi. I did no carbs a few years ago, and gained a few pounds when i quit. i think it was water, though, 'cause it came off again after a few weeks.
i'd make sure you're drinking a lot of water!
