For breakfast I usually have a smoothie made with coconut yogurt, soy milk, rice protein powder, a banana and some frozen spinach. The other morning, instead of the banana, I put in a palm-full of frozen spinach and a palm-full of chard. After drinking it, I had a bout of D for half the day. Are green smoothies unsafe for IBS-D?

I think it's that you omitted the banana, which was really the only soluble fiber in your smoothie. Also, check the fat content on the coconut yogurt - it might be way too high.
As long as you have a good soluble fiber foundation in your smoothie, and you blend things really well, green smoothies are usually very tolerable.
