Hi -- I'm sorry if this has already been covered in the forums and I missed it. I've been taking Heather's acacia tummy fiber since the spring. I started at 1/4 teaspoon twice daily and have increased the dose 1/4 teaspoon at a time. I stay at one dose for at least a few weeks before I go up again. Every time I increase the dose I feel dramatically better almost right away -- more regular, no diarrhea. This lasts for about a week, and then I'm right back where I started, with little to no improvement over the times when I wasn't taking fiber at all.
Is this a common experience? If I keep increasing the dose, will I eventually hit a point where the relapsing back to where I was doesn't happen? I'm taking 2 1/4 teaspoons twice daily now.

Hello - this isn't super common, but I have heard it before. You're on the right track, just continue to gradually increase your dose as you have been.
On average, diarrhea resolves at 1-3 tablespoons per day. You're at about 1 1/2 tablespoons per day right now.
Just keep increasing as you have been, and you should reach a dose that keeps you feeling better going forward and not just for a week.
Best, Heather

I leveled out my IBS-D at 3T total/Day, (1 1/2t everytime I eat anything, which is 6X/Day) monotonous, but hey.
