Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on the use of health salts for IBSers?
The salts are designed to balance the salts in your body and make your urine less acidic while working as an antacid to reduce the acidity in your stomach. It is also a laxative.
The ingredients include: sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, magnesium sulphate.

It is sort like taking tums, lemon and MoM all at once BUT something doesn't make sense as the sodium bicarbonate will neutralize the citric acid leaving nothing but the magnesium sulfate which is the active ingredient in Milk of Magnesia.

In short, it's a laxative. As I understand it magnesium sulphate is an osmotic (saline) laxative. Are there any reasons why this would be unsuitable for IBSers to use? Other than causing D, that is.

Yep - it is an osmotic laxative. Many people with C use it. The IFFGD has an article on osmotic laxative. In this case they talk about Miralax which contains polyethylene glyco that you may find interesting
