I recently met with the dietician in my gastorenterologist's office at his urging since I have been on and off so many meds and nothing much is helping, he felt dietary manipulation was worth a shot. I started that in April and I have lost 25 lbs. He has me on high protein, low carb, and no high fructose corn syrup or anything that is or has fructose in it ... he said the fructose actually "feeds" the bad bacteria in the gut and felt that might be a huge trigger for me and I think he was right, because I can really tell when I don't eat like I'm "supposed" to and go off diet ... Great article Heather!

Thanks Heather, the changes are not easy to do and maintain but my tummy is much happier when I do so it's totally worth it, along with the weight loss! I had a knee replacement in July and the gastro doc was really worried I'd gain some back but I didn't Still doing therapy three times a week ... it's unfortunate that the gluten free options that are out there are so very very expensive
