I'm sorry to say I can't tolerate wine, which I really miss, or any other kind of alcohol. I even tried having only one glass a week, and I'd be okay that night and the next night, but it was like it made me more sensitive to other triggers (by irritating the stomach lining??) and within the week I'd pay.
Sorry for the bad news from me, but everyone is different, so maybe you'll find a way.

You have all been so helpful with your suggestions and encouragement. I was in Vegas last week doing a tradeshow and I had no wine at all. My stomach was better so I guess that's that. Perhaps I will get to tolerate 1 glass. Having sol. fiber first makes very good sence.

I love drinking both wine and Jack Daniels . They don't bother me too bad, but I guess it depends on how much I drink. And I've been putting J.D. in my tea because I'm trying to beat a cold. That seems to be the one thing that works for me especially since I don't like medicine. But I do agree with the others, that a good soluble food should come first.

I'm okay with a glass now and then. It's easier if I have it with dinner. My fave drink atm (having been skiing) is mulled wine. It's warm, it's sweet, it makes me feel GOOD!
Btw, watch out for real ale! I'm okay with some lager (tho it makes me bloated), but I had a stoutish real ale b4 Christmas and it put me in hospital!

Never, ever on an empty stomach. That makes my stomach cramp! I can handle white wine on a full stomach----we're talking AFTER a meal. Red wine seems to be a problem for me anytime.
