Hi, I've had IBS my whole life but it's taken ages to be diagnosed properly because of my endometriosis. Anyways, I've started going gluten-free in an attempt to get rid of IBS symptoms, but after coming to this site and seeing that "fresh white bread" is okay, I'm a bit confused. What breads work for most of you, and is it a matter of trial and error? I'm a bit afraid to eat gluten again but I am bread-obsessed and don't want to miss out if certain breads are OK on an IBS-diet. Thank you so much.

Hi - make sure you've been tested for celiac so you know if you are completely gluten intolerant. You can avoid gluten and still follow an IBS safe diet, you'll just have to choose gluten free soluble fiber staples.

Gluten free breads can be tricky - if you buy them, read the ingredients to be sure they're not adding a lot of fat or dairy or other weird ingredients that can cause IBS problems.

Best,
H
