low fodmap question

I know sweet potatoes are limited to either 3 Tablespoons or 1/2 cup, not sure which. but what about yams?

The problem is that in North America the term yam and sweet potato are frequently used interchangeably. In fact, true yams from Africa and Asia are unrelated to the sweet potato. Due to this confusion it might be best to treat yams like sweet potatoes. BTW - yams have more insoluble fiber that sweet potatoes.
