I thought I had C for years until I got a new gastro who I told that I had great difficulty going from 1 to 4 times a day and he informed me this is D not C.
Cheers.

So I have D, not C? I'm confused. How's the fodmap diet going for you? Any relief?

You - and everyone, with or without IBS - should be eating as much insoluble fiber AS THEY CAN TOLERATE. That amount will vary tremendously from person to person, and even with the same person depending on other factors, stress in their life, etc.
If you are finely chopping, pureeing, blending, cooking, etc. the peels, that will really break down the insoluble fiber before you eat it, and make it much less likely to cause pain. But how much, exactly, you can eat is going to take some careful, cautious trial and error on your part.
I'm so sorry, IBS is just not a math equation, and there is no way to solve it with hard numbers. Start with small amounts of peels, always with a soluble fiber foundation, and see how you do. Then gradually increase.
Best, H

Yes and totally understandable as we are each individuals. I have been experimenting and as you said trial and error. I had just posted a longer message again since I now know how to post on the IBS board. You said you have had this since the age of 9 and and obviously you can eat nuts. Were you (then) not able to eat nuts and things with peels and/or insoluble fiber at the time but that gradually changed/healed over time? I am hoping this will happen for me as well...Again, thank you for the advice and encouragement Janet - Health22
