Can anyone recommend a good probiotic for C and pain? Or have you found them to cause more problems than help? Would love some new feedback. Thanks much for sharing your experinces.

Some probiotics that have been clinically tested on individuals with IBS that showed some efficacy are Align, VSL#3 and digestive advantage.

Thank you. Those are the ones I knew of. Just was hoping for some input on experiences with any of them, good or bad. Don't know which one to choose, if any.

I understand that. Was just hoping to hear others experiences...but nobody seems to post much on this board anymore anyhow. Not like it used to be.

I think alot of us come here for opinions, advice, etc...but, I too have found that everything is so different for each one of us.
I have tried Digestive Advantage, as well as several other probiotics. The last one I used was Enzymatic Therapies Pearls. I really can't say that any of them really made a difference for me. In fact, some of them actually made my gas worse:(
Alot of articles I have read suggest they are very beneficial for replenishing the gut after antibiotic therapy, but not sure about as a daily routine??

I posted to you on the recipe exchange. I see you are gf and dairy free and would love your muffin recipes!
Do you take an SFS? Are you celiac? Just curious!
Hope more people share their experience an thoughts on probiotics and/or digestive enzymes!

I am not celiac but have had problems with gluten and had a doctor who recommended giving it up.
As far as SFS, I have tried psyllium (never:), acacia (not Heather's - had alot of gas) and Citrucel, which was the best for me. I used the Citrucel for about 3 years and then stopped as they discontinued the smoothie mix, which for me was the best. The choices now are simply with sugar and with artificial sweetener. I tried the sugar one but, it has artificial colors and I really hated the orange flavor;) But, for me that was the best. Will check out your post on the recipe forum.

First I am not stable but align has me closer I've been on it about a year, I went a month without it as an experiment, and really noticed ( currently due to diet changes I'm pseudo d) but typically I'm very c I'd go on align about every day to every other, without it I can literally go a week without a bm so it's doing something!

I am currently trying align. I'm not sure it's doing anything, so I wanted to hear about from others. It is so expensive, isn't it!

I used to use the citricel smoothie mix too. Don't know why they stopped making it. So do you use the sugar citricel now even though it has artifical coloring?

It is, do you have access to Costco? I get mine there, and we save on it we get about a 7 week supply for fourty bucks, at Walgreens it's about a month for 30 so you save around ten bucks
