It is my understanding that with IBS we need to stay away from whole wheat and whole grain products. My question: What about whole grain corn or whole grain rice, are those ok to eat? I have noticed like the Chex cereals are gluten free but they are using whole grain corn and rice.

Check the insoluble fiber list. Whole grains including corn and rice can be a problem because it contains high amounts of insoluble fiber. Some people find they can eat brown rice while other cannot. Heather says "Oatmeal, brown rice, and corn meal (polenta) tend to be the best-tolerated whole grains for IBS". So you may have to experiment to figure out which if any whole grains you can eat
