I was a pack and a half a day smoker when I was diagnosed with ibs, I got heathers book and quit smoking drinking alcohol and caffeine, it was not easy, but then neither was the daily cramping and pain, within just a few days of dropping these habits most of my pain had subsided, over the years my ibs has gotten more severe but quitting those three triggers alone was an amazing relief, and cutting out dairy of all types was another huge step in the right direction, I know it's difficult but your body will thank you, side effect though I got rid of almost everything I owned once I wasn't smoking I hated that stench on my things
