Hey everyone, I wanted to share something that seems to be working for me. I had a week of loose motions. Then I had immodium. Still I had about 4 motions a day. Then, by fluke I tried puffed rice and the motions reduced to just 2 the following day. It did cause some gas, but that was OK.
You can lightly fry the puffed rice and have it before meals. Try it and let me have your comments
I think rice flakes might also help. Need to try it. -Clifton Muri is to rice as popcorn is to corn. IBS-D and sometimes A. Over 50.

Questions.
What cereal(s) did you replace with puffed rice?
Is it possible that the cereal(s) that you were eating before caused the D?

Hi Syl,
Actually I did not replace any cereals. I have just started eating a handful of puffed rice before meals. Lightly fried with some spices.
Also, I did not stop eating any of the previous foods I used to have. In the mornings I have 1 tea spoon of acacia tummy fibre + peppermint tea. It is by afternoon and night that I have the puffed rice. My diet is strictly vegetarian + rice milk.
I went through your FODMAPs approach. Good points to consider since I have a lot of fruits + onions in my diet.
Thanks for the FODMAPs approach.

Whenever I go through the following cycle of loose motions and constipation, I have developed painful mouth lesions. Quote:
I had a week of loose motions. Then I had immodium. Still I had about 4 motions a day.
I use a mouth wash "Eludril" at present. Please, can someone advise me on how to break this cycle of painful mouth lesions recurring?
Thanks. Clifton ------------- IBS-D - Over 50 years.
