Hi there! I haven't been here for a couple of weeks, but still on the diet and also taking SF-supplements again (benefiber)
I'm doing pretty good, much better than I was. I found out my nausea is reduced by eating according to the EFI diet. My gastrics pains seem to be reduced by eating less fructose.
I'm now trying to put more IF in my diet (some cooked veggies), but it's pretty hard to find out. I'm still eating mostly courgette and carrots.. (and just banana for fruit)
I've been slowly adding benefiber and now I'm taking about 10g fibers a day (max is 15g), in 3 portions. I'm also still using forlax (macrogol), and I haven't been able to reduce it.
I don't think the benefiber is working for my constipation? Because I can't reduce the forlax...(still between 1-3 sachets a day)
Should I keep on adding to the maximum dose Benefiber to find out if it's going to work? Or try something else (metamucil?) I did use metamucil for 1 week, which made my symptoms only worse (but I didnt built up slowly back then)
(Also started hypnotherapy, have had 3 sessions now, but not sure if it's doing something already.)
-------------------- PI-IBS-C/A nausea & very bad gastric pain
meds: lansoprazol+macrogol
started EFI +FODMAPs 1/2011. 'Relapse' for 8 months. Now partly back on track again with the diet..

Hi!
Just a quick comment regarding this

Whether you are doing the IBS Audio Program featured on this website, or another hypnotherapy protocol, improvement is a journey, and you most likely wont see results in only 3 sessions. This is especially true for any protocol that is not gut-specific or gut-directed. Also, some IBS-C patients may take a bit longer to see their symptoms addressed over the IBS-D patients - not all - but some do as it is easier to stop and action then to start one.
In addition, most hypnotherapy protocols take you away from thinking about IBS and symptoms over time; when you read and write and research about IBS while doing hypnotherapy, you may be delaying your progress a bit - I know this can be difficult when you need answers and support, but it is a factor in progess results, so you may want to consider that.
Hope that helps and all the best to you!
