I've recently been diagnosed with IBS and my main symptoms are bloating followed by nausea. I follow Heather's eating guidelines carefully (and have always been a healthy eater...I have been off of gluten and dairy for years due to other health issues), practice daily yoga, and am learning to manage my stress and anxiety, but I'm wondering if other people have these symptoms too. If I stick to the safest foods possible, I am usually fine, but even if I snack on tiny amounts of gluten-free, fat-free cookies in the evening, I sometimes get grossly bloated. Hours later this leads to nausea and going to the bathroom, which is sometimes relieved by going just once, and sometimes takes many times...

I don't get pain associated with the IBS, mostly just discomfort, nausea, and bloating (almost always relieved by going to the bathroom), and I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this and if anyone has any advice!

Since my initial (severe) flare-up a few months ago, I have gone up and down (and am much better than when it was at its worst). I assume it will continue this way until I get a better handle on calming down my gut, but in the meantime, I'd love to know that I'm not alone with these symptoms. Thanks!

The symptoms you describe are not unusual. You may find the information on managing FODMAPs linked to in my signature of some help for managing gas and bloating.
