Raw Oats versus Cooked Oatmeal

Lately I've been throwing raw oats (organic quick oats) in with a banana and some chocolate silk soy milk. Does anyone seem to have a problem eating raw oats in this matter, without cooking them as with oatmeal? I do fine with oatmeal but was not sure if the cooking process (microwaving) changed anything.

Thanks a lot

Uncooked oats are rather hard to digest and you don't get the benefit of the resistant starch that is produced when oatmeal is cooked in water. The resistant starch acts like a soluble fiber. It is the gummy substance that makes cooked oatmeal sticky.
