Trouble sleeping.

Last night I had a horrible time trying to get a little shut-eye: I came to bed about 10:30, and waited till about 3-ish. It was torture! But, anyways, I'd like to know if that, in any way, affects the bowel, IBS-wise. I think it has to do something with the digestive pattern, but I'm not sure.

It has been know for some time that sleep disturbances are not uncommon in individuals with IBS. The distrubances are related to abnormal intestinal function during sleep. You can read the details of the finding in Sleep and gastric function in IBS.
I experienced troubled sleep patterns and weird dreams/nightmares for many years. During the past 5-6 years I have gotten my symptoms under control primarily with diet management. The dreams/nightmares have stopped and my sleep returned to normal. Once you get your diet under control and the symptoms have decreased you may experience the same thing.
What meals and snacks did you have yesterday? Do you drink pop or fruit juices? If yes, which ones do you drink?

Well, yesterday, I had Oscar Mayer's Turkey Bacon, as always; never really gave me problems to my knowledge, for breakfast. For lunch, I had the typical PB&J sandwich, Jif, Welch's, and Wegmans. For dinner, I had a bowl of delicious Kellogg's Corn Pops (I believe Heather recommends Pops.) with some Lactaid 1% Milkfat Low-Fat 100% Lactose Free milk. Now before you say it, I am often able to tolerate milk, especially this milk.
One thing I'd like to note is that...well, I think I already said this before, but I've been drinking Minute Maid's fruit punch for about 10 years. I've been told that it's bad because contains High Fructose Corn Syrup. If my intestines had a thing with HFCS, I think I would've found that out by now. Thanks for helping out, BTW.

If you have been drinking it for 10 years and in pain for 8, what makes you think there are no issues with it?

ok heres the thing did you eat the bacon alone? because thats a bad idea, honestly if i ate what you ate I'd probably be in a hospital for pain.the thing is I know your young and you don't have full controle over your diet, but you continue to ask questions and ignore the answers, you have to help yourself. there is no one else who can. why don't you try the diet the proper way for like two weeks? cut out all the questionable stuff. put in sf foods as a base. ditch the corn syrup, milk and high fat triggers and try the diet for real. you aren't diagnosed for ibs, but certainly trying the diet and seeing if it brings releif would be a way to help affirm your self diagnosis. everyone is here to be supportive, but you have to change what your doing if you want a result

It's just that I don't get pains/attacks every day. Besides, I think I've been getting more pains more recently know that I worry about it sometimes.

Your signature says you are dedicated to putting a stop to the pain but you are continuing to eat what you were eating when you first joined. And like dizzy I know that maybe you do not have the full control of your diet but surely you can modify it to a certain degree? The sugar, the fat, the lack of vegs and fiber are all so very unhealthy not to mention so IBS unfriendly.
Just try to listen to what we are telling you and if you have to, make the changes in small doses. And of course if there is stress involved, this needs to be addressed as well.

If you have had pain for 6-8 years and you have been drinking fruit juices and eat jams and other foods with high fructose corn syrup all that time how would you know it isn't a problem until you remove it from your diet for a period of time?
Perhaps the pains in your intestine have been telling you for the past 6-8 years that something in your diet is not right - maybe high fructose corn syrup, dairy and junk foods are some of those not right things.
Do your parents or grandparents ever prepare proper healthy meals for you?

Well, the only healthy meal I know I can eat right now is a dry bowl of Corn Pops or Cheerios. Unless, if the milk I'm drinking isn't bad (100% Lactose free; 1% milk-fat). But, when it comes to a beverage, I don't really have a choice. We have a bottle of "Simply Orange" Orange juice. But, besides that it's Minute Maid and some fruit punch juice boxes. One reason why I eat the questionable foods I eat right now is because I'm really sure I can tolerate it, and my grandpa, as you guys probably know, is almost 100% sure that my pains are because of stress.

try sticking with it for a couple of weeks and leave the other juices alone for now.
Did you show you grandpa the article Heather wrote in her newletter about how stress does not cause IBS but stress can make it symptoms worse? In summary in the brief article she discusses how IBS is indisputably a physical problem.
I have asked this question 3 times.
Do your parents or grandparents every prepare regular healthy meals for you such as chicken, rice and carrots?
