Hi,

I just bought a bag of Glutino's pretzel sticks; one of the ingredients is "cellulose gum". I know that cellulose fiber is insoluable and should be avoided, but how about cellulose gum? I also have a bottle of charcoal pills that have cellulose (plant origin) on them - would this be bad too?

Thanks so much,
Heather

Cellulose gum is an insoluble fiber that has been modified to make it water soluble. It is listed after sea salt in the ingredients list so the pretzels contain a small amount. It shouldn't present a problem.

Usually the amount of cellulose in products like charcoal pills is quite small and should be a problem especially taken with a meal.

Oh, ok, that's great. I was worried that I would have to throw these out. Thanks so much for your help, Syl!
