Hello
I need some advice. I have been diagnosed with IBS (had lots of tests but not the colonoscopy, I am 39 no digestive cancer in my family) until this morning my major symptoms were gas, bloating and alternating C&D. This morning I had a lot of pain.
The cramps started as usual..then got very intense very quickly..I had a normalish BM, then 15 mins later D. The pain was accompanied by sweating, ringing in my ears, short of breath and a feeling like I was going to faint. But the major pain went after the 2nd BM of D. At the same time my menstruation started.
I had Swiss Chalet last night for dinner, white meat, steamed veggies and a handful of fries. Not unusual for me.
Anyone comment on the pain? Like I said this is the first time it has been this bad! Hormones? A factor in IBS? The meal i ate?
THANKS Maura

not sure, but if it was me i would definitely have the fries to blame for that! oh, how i love them (and miss them) but their fried goodness is not so kind to me! even just a handful...do you take any fiber supplement?

Hi Bermuda
Thanks for the response. I dont think they have bothered me before but anything is possible. I don't take a fiber supplement. I am wheat sensitive as well. My usual diet is Breakfast: oatmeal with ground flaxseed (1 tbs) with almond milk and blueberries. Lunch: Rice brocolii and chicken Dinner: peas and carrots and some protien with rice or mash potatoes.
Snacks I have nuts and seeds and or raisins. Maybe some rice crackers and almond butter. I don't eat dairy or wheat.
Thanks Maurac

Hi,
I know when I start menstruating and especially if I get cramps it can really aggravate my IBS. The symptoms you're describing below about the sweating and cramping ect... that happens to me when I eat something extremely fatty or coffee or something like that. I can get away with fries once in awhile too. Sometimes I find it's hard to pinpoint but the menstruating could have something to do with it. It affects me when I get menstrual cramps.

I think that both th efries and your period are working to bring you down.Fries are pretty much a nono for me.I can do baked but it's just NOT the same,is it. I also notice you eat broccoli, does that not cause you gas? I also think,if I am not mistaken, nuts, seeds and raisins are also on the not good for IBS list.
