So, here I am doing really well following Heather's diet plan, feeling so proud of myself for doing so, and then I decide to make Toll House Oat Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Yikes! What a mistake. I had one cookie and not 15 minutes later I had an IBS-D attack. Is this normal to have such a quick reaction to such a little, but fattening, cookie?
I guess I'm back to the cocoa powder cookies right?

Believe it or not I think that is about average time after I eat to get some kind of stomach reaction if I eat something bad for me. The fat just does something to the colon and before you know it you are having an attack. It doesn't happen too often for me anymore - mostly because if I eat something like that I don't do it on an empty stomach. That really seems to make a difference for me. Hope you are feeling better.

Yep, it could happen. Did you eat the cookie on an empty stomach? If you did, that could have really set you off. Cookies are very high fat - butter or shortening, solid chocolate, egg yolks - and not nearly enough soluble fiber. You might do okay with a small one on a full stomach of a soluble fiber meal, but otherwise this is really a trigger.

Yes, I did eat it mid-afternoon, before dinner. I know, against the rules
I guess I'm just grieving over saying goodbye to a "old friend" (my choc-chip cookies). I've been doing a lot of that since I've begun eating healthier. I really am okay with it though...there is a wonderful payoff of feeling well when I behave!

Oh, this sounds SOOOOO familiar! With me, it's peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies. Sometimes I make them for my office and send them in the mail -- but of course I manage to tuck a few away for me in the deep recess of the fridge. If I manage to find them and eat them, I always -- ALWAYS -- pay the price!
It ain't worth it, Girlfriend! But you know, there is help for us -- it's our ADBs -- if you haven't tried them, you're in for a treat! Bev.
