I may be late on this one but I do concur. Different docs different advice and nothing helped. You would think a specialist would know his job though.

I went to one in SEATTLE two years ago that had IBS himself and supposedly helped thousands others. cost a pretty penny, but didn't help me,

Be careful. You don't want to end up with saying "Don't taze me man!" LOL
As for medical help, I can't predict if the common cold or IBS will be cured first. For the cold, we have Zicam. For IBS we have SFS, fennel tea and pep caps.
-------------------- IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

I take a SFS (2 TSP Benefiber) but it does not seem to help. I tried cammeal tea, did not help.

I'm not sure if I should schedule an appointment to see an MD or a naturapathic doctor. IBS is ruining me.
