Hello everyone - this is my first post. Just wanted to introduce myself and say how excited I am after 24 years of suffering to realize that there are people out there like me and that I CAN do something (and no, Doctors, "eat more fiber" doesn't cut it!) about it.
My IBS symptoms started when I was about 8 and have really limited my life in so many ways - overnight stays at friends' houses when I was little, travel, employment, etc... Recently, I decided to try and get to the bottom of things since I was tired of just "getting by". Doctor has tested me for food allergies, Celiac and some other auto-immune diseases, with all negative results. I actually gave up gluten for 6 weeks recently and didn't see much improvement. This week I stumbled on Heather's book and realized how many things I have been doing OPPOSITE to the advice she gives, and I'm excited to give it a go.
Can't wait to get to know all of you
