I think it is amazing how different foods trigger IBS in some sufferers, while those same foods do not at alla ffect others.
I know for me my primary trigger is fatty foods, fried foods, etc...solid chocolate in moderate to large quantities, eating too much food in one sitting, etc. Caffeine and artificial sweetners are supposed to be IBS triggers, but they dont affect me at all. Some IBS ppl can eat nuts, no way I can!

I've often thought this myself. I know dairy, caffine, carbonated drinks, fatty foods, bacon, pork, tomatoes and snow peas are my worst nightmare.
Chocolate is ok though? But nuts aren't!

Mine is dairy, red meat, and anything deep fried. Chocolate - I still can't finish a whole chocolate or else I will be sick after.

Zaftig1 - Chocolate is one of mine but not all. Isn't that strange? I went to a neighbors the other day and had 4 (count 'em...1-2-3-4) mini Hershey bars. About 20 minutes, later I was self-propelled, but luckily no pain with my gas. Then I can have a WW chocolate bar and nothing happens. Go figure!

Hi - Hypnotherapy for IBS is one of the very best ways to manage or even eliminate stress and anxiety related attacks. There's an IBS hypno board coming Tuesday, so hang on. There will be lots of great info there.

I find cocoa powder, which is very low in fat, works best for me. I like to make Rice Krispy treats and add cocoa powder to the melted marshmallow creme. MMM!
One good thing about IBS: sugar is not a trigger! (at least not for me).
