I've been suffering from IBS-D for a while now and just recently discovered I have food allergies. I got a test done that tells me what my food sensitivities are and my food intolerances. Everything that was listed as food intolerance (Beef, Egg, Milk, Peanut, Soy, and Wheat) was also my biggest IBS triggers.
I never considered allergy testing before because I never new that my D from IBS is also an allergic side affect, so you can have an allergic side effect to a food and the side effect will be D. Some of my food sensitivities would also trigger an IBS attack (bakers & brewers yeast & garlic).
I had other symptoms that I didn't know go hand-in-hand with allergies & intolerances, and for the most part I attributed them to my IBS, sensitive skin, and hectic lifestyle:
• Stomach pain
• Diarrhea
• Itchy skin
• Shortness of breath
• Gas, cramps, or bloating
• Heartburn
• Headaches
• Irritability or nervousness

I'm going to see a nutritionist soon to see what my options are being that I am pregnant and want to make sure I am eating healthy.
But I wanted to know if anyone else here has been through this and how the handled the change?
