I tried 100% carrot juice from whole foods and Im pretty sure it hurt my stomach the way I would feel sick if I had too much fruit or something. Shouldnt 100% carrot juice be completely safe? It had 14 grams of sugar but no added sugar- is this from fructose? Thanks:)

Sometimes carrot juice is a blended with apple juice which is high in excess fructose. What are the ingredients in the carrot juice you bought?

Carrot juice has a laxative effect - that's why it's in all those "detox" regimens. I found this description on a few websites: "Carrot juice for constipation relief can be a powerful way to deal with bowel movement problems. Carrot juices contain certain oils that work on the mucus membranes of the stomach and colon. This helps with digestion and starts your bowels functioning properly. Carrots are high in fiber and beta-carotene, an antioxidant, which the body converts to vitamin A. Carrots can make your stools softer and larger."
I sometimes make my own juice using a juicer, but I combine the carrots with other vegs/fruit to lessen their impact.

The carrot juice was 100% carrots, thats it. I didnt really make my stomach hurt until I went for a run and then I felt like i really had to go to the bathroom..i felt a little off for a while but then I actually felt much better because it kind of cleared out my system. I think its true that it has a laxative effect. Maybe this would be good for those with constipation.

Is the carrot juice alone high in fructose? If so, is there something I can add that may help?

Did you make it yourself? Was the carrot juice filtered or did it contain the carrot pulp?
Carrot pulp has about 3 grams of fiber per 100 grams (4 grams / cup) of which about 50% is insoluble fiber and 50% soluble.
Carrots contain about equal amounts of glucose and fructose so that should be a problem unless fructose was added.

If you drank it right before you went running, it could have been from the running and intake of food itself, especially a juice and if it was on an empty stomach.
Excersize can stimulate digestion to go.
