I have heard good things about Miralax on the boards, but I think that I have a problem with it. I took it last weekend, and even though I had a pretty good BM, I had really bad abdominal pain and everything that I ate triggered more pain. I had bad bloating and gas too. Has anyone else had problems with Miralax? I know that even though it's supposed to be gentler, it is still a laxative and can irritate.

Thanks,
Heather

Heather,
I had trouble with it as well. My GI doc said it was so rare to have trouble with it, but I really think I did. I had cramping and discomfort all the time. I was able to have a BM, but it never felt right to me. I recently started taking a combo of benefiber, 2 colace and an align at night and this has helped me... My doc did tell me that if I got C as bad as I was before she wanted me to do miralax again, but I'm hoping I won't have to.

I've taken it for about 3 weeks.

I'd say it helps a little in adding more movement and more clearing, there are fewer times when I have to push out a hard stool, but it still hasn't cured and in fact some movements are pretty loose.
