Perhaps he means that the antibiotic will kill some bad bacteria which are competing with good bacteria for nutrients. Once the bad bacteria are killed the amount of good bacteria will increase. You might ask him for a better explanation next time you see him and then post his comments so we can understand better what he means

Took the breath test yesterday. Very painless and comfortable.
Unfortunately, I'm negative for H.Pylori. I was kinda hoping that would be the culprit, but it is not! If it were, then maybe I could find some relief!
Ughh!
The Librax is helping, tremendously! I'm still very bloated though! I can't seem to get this belly back down! Ginger helps, and so does fennel, but I can't afford any right now after that test! I need some relief from the bloat!
At least my gut doesn't sound like the creature from the gut lagoon! LOL
