I have a recipe that calls for whole rolled oats (oatmeal) as a topping. I did make it, but I'm thinking the oats might not be safe. If I pulsed them in a food processor a couple of times, not enough to make them a powder but just enough to grind them a little, would this be okay?

Oats should be ok. It's about 1/2 SF 1/2 IF. Grinding them up will help alot to break it down some!
