I am new to the message board and eating for ibs. I began taking acacia several weeks ago. Is it common to have a hard time adjusting to it if constipation is your problem?

Could you let us know what problems you having? C is more difficult to treat that D but it's hard to know what to tell you without knowing what your experiencing.

You should be drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day when taking a SFS as it absorbs water so too little fluid can lead to even more C. You should also start at a low dose and work your way up. Also don't forget that a SFS will help stabilize you with C you do need to be eating IF as well with pretty much every meal. Check out this link for more info about dealing with C http://www.helpforibs.com/news/newsletter/062205.html#askheather.

I seem to have a good bit of bloating and difficulty going. I drink lots of water but can't seem to add any foods other than just soluble fiber foods. I'm also concerned about a blockage and wondered if the acacia could contribute.
