I have taken Cholystermine and it worked fast but with gas so I started taking colstipol and have only seen slight improvement however I do not have any side effects. I am just wondering if I just need to be patient and eventually I will see results or if its just not going to work as well as the cholystermine. When I take the name brand -- I do not get all the gas. If I take the generic it is really bad gas....weird. I did not figure it out until someone online told me about it. Now, I pay the extra and take Questran regular not Sugar Free. I heard it works better than the pill os of Colestipol. Hope this helps.... I would take Questran but my ins doesn't cover name brand so its around 100.00 or so and the Cholystermine is only 10.00. The pills are just not as strong I don't think.
