Old fashion only. Some of instant stuff has other stuff added.

It would be great if there were a forum for fructose malabsorption. In looking Heather's IBS diet, I know there are a number of foods that I would not be able to eat. A fructose malaborption diet cheat sheet would be helpful. Do you try to keep track of the amount of fructose that you ingest at one time and how much you ingest each day?

I don't keep track. I am lucky - or unlucky depending on how you look at it - I cannot tolerate most foods that have small amounts of more fructose than glucose. The only food I eat that has a small amount of excess fructose is zucchini and then I only have 2-3 tablespoons of peeled cooked zucchini at a time.
With fructose malabsorption I find it isn't the amount of excess fructose I eat each day, it is the amount of excess fructose I have with each meal.
A cheat sheet would be nice. In fact a modified EFI diet for those of us with fructose malabsorption would be even better. It is quite easy to do simply by substituting fruits and some veggies as well as moderating consumption of foods high in fructans such as wheat and some vegetables. Also there are a few tricks one can use such as offsetting small amounts of excess fructose by adding some glucose (corn sugar or dextrose).
The guidelines I use are the ones found in Figure 2 of the article on fructose malabsorption found in the article linked to in my signature line. It would be extremely helpful if this table with a few other items were made a sticky post at the top of the diet page. This way I won't have to keep reiterating the basics to new people that join the board with fructose problems. Oh well - at least now it is more okay to talk about fructose problems compare to when I first joined the board

I don't recall seeing the diet. I have read quite a bit of research from there particularly from a Dr. Satish Rao. Is the diet on their web site? I cannot seem to find it if it is
