I can't say for sure how much it's helped me since I've never been stable, but I don't think it's been harmful. Right now I am taking a product called I-B Eaze by Alpha Omega which contains several ingredients helpful for IBS, one of them being slippery elm. -------------------- IBS-C, lots of spasm and trapped gas.
