Has anyone tried putting the Tummy Care fiber into capsules? I have a device that will fill capsules which would be more convenient when traveling but will it work taken that way? Also I am going to India and was advised to take 2 pepto bismal tablets 4 times a day to prevent travel diarrhea. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have never taken it and don't know how it will interact with the fiber, calcium and pepermint that I use to help control my IBS. Thanks for any help you can give.

Depending on your amount of acacia per day that may be a lot of capsules, but it is ok. Taking pepto or immodium to prevent attacks that seem likely is ok, but if you swing toward C at all (I swing both ways -tee hee) it will mess you up that way.
I find the best thing to do when traveling is to order a lot of hot tea or hot water and put Heather's tea bags in it. You can take your fiber in it. You get lots of water but it is boiled. For me staying hydrated while travelling is a problem. And really anywhere you travel can cause someone with a sensitive stomach to get icky from the water, but tea helps a little.

IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
