Hello I was wondering if anyone had good luck taking antibiotics, I was put on them about a month ago and I have been doing so well, its like I dont have IBS -D any more. I am hopeing this isnt temporary, I have heard of IBS getting worse from taking antibiotics but never heard of it fixing it. i told my doctor but I got no responce. Any input would be great

What antibiotic is it? My GI dr just prescribed antibiotics specifically for my intestines to get rid of the bad bacteria since I didn't do well on increasing the good bacteria with Align. I haven't tried it yet though.

Did your doctor prescribe Flagyl?
It helped me some back in the summer, but it exasperated my diarrhea recently.

Temporary relief from IBS while taking some antibiotics is well known in the IBS research community. The reason for this are still unknown. Unfortunately usually the relief is temporary
