I think I need more water in my colon. Hard BM's. I drink SO MUCH water! Is there something I can take for that? I am new and have been increasing soluble fiber intake (Citrucil) for a month. Is there another fiber that's better for that? Can't take psyllium or inulin. I have Acacia fiber - doesn't seem to work as well as Citrucil.

The Acacia didn't really work for me until I was able to get myself up to a few tablespoons a day, so it may be worth giving it some more time. I also found a calcium/magnesium supplement (with a higher percentage of magnesium) to be helpful in softening things up.

I bought some magnesium today - so I'll see! The gastro checked my magnesium level and it was OK, but they often don't know what they're talking about.

In addition to Fen's advice, I would take a look at what you have been eating. i find that rice will bind me horribly or just too much white bread. I'm still terribly sensitive to any changes in my diet. When eating allot of pasta I use Barilla plus cause it has a little fiber so it doesn't bind me or give me any problems that anything else with fiber does at this point. Also have you tried a probiotic? It may give you gas for the first few weeks but it really does help keep you regular for D or C, I take Align and Digestive Support. If your BMs are really that hard that they tear, you may want to keep an enema near by. I don't like some of the stuff they put in them so I replace it with bottled water. But I haven't had to consider doing that since using the probiotics. Hope ya feel better!
