Hey you guys out there who gave up your beloved cuppajoe! Did you have caffeine withdrawals? It's been about a week for me now, and I didn't think I'd have withdrawals since I was drinking mostly decaf (and maybe one cup of the real stuff every other day). I've been fine until now -- but I woke up this morning with a MAJOR headache that keeps getting worse. It's caused a little nausea. Okay, a lot of nausea. No vomiting though. I forced down some cocoa which seemed to help, and I quickly whipped up a batch of our favorite ADBs. I think I'll also make Kree's ultimate non-dairy chocolate pudding for an even bigger jolt. That oughta do it, eh?
HELP!

Hi Bev - do a search for this. There have been several really good threads with suggestions from folks who've been through this. One thing to try is some green tea - it's got caffeine, but will be easy on your gut. You can have a cup a day and then taper off...

Bev, sorry to hear that you're not feeling so well! I always drank mostly decaf coffee, too, and I don't remember noticing any major withdrawal symptoms. But I'm not surprised that it could do that to you, since it is a drug! I hope you get rid of that nasty headache soon. Jeez, if you'd known you'd feel hung over you could have just had some of your Jack, right?? Lol. Anyway, feel better soon!

Hi bevrs; i gave up the 'joe' some years ago when a doctor told me coffee was what was probsbly causing mer problems. I didn't quite beleive it so I tried a week on and a week off the coffee. Turns out he was right! ben off the stiff ever since but no reactions such as you had.

I have had withdrawals a few time. I am a repeat "quitter"! When I get the headaches, upset tummy, sore body, I try to drink as much water as I can and try to go for a swim. Not hardcore swimming workout but slow relaxing swim. Try to resist the urge to down some Tylenol or other painkillers. Its not a "real" headache and won't do much except probably bother your stomach some more.
I wish you all the best!
