So many IBS recipes call for soy and unfortunately soy sets my guts into an uproar..pain, bloating and gas. I've tried rice and almond milk with pretty good results but what about goats milk? I'd love to hear from others who cannot tolerate soy and what they found to substitute.

I also can't do soy, so I use almond milk in my cereal, but I don't bake so I'm not sure about replacing it in recipes or anything.
As for goat's milk, I haven't tried it, but I seem to be able to tolerate goat dairy in small quantities, so i eat goat yoghurt (Liberty's in Canada is a good one) and goat's cheese, especially pecorino romano which is a great substitute for parmesan. I only just learned that "pecorino" is Italian for "goat"!
I know that eating any dairy is not EFI, however goat dairy is widely known to be more easily digestible because its molecular structure is closer to that of human breast milk, and therefore easier for us humans to break down (do a google search). It is also slightly lower in lactose than cow dairy.
I've also tried goat ice cream - it did give me problems but I think that was partly attributable to the fat content and the fact that I ate way too much at once! It had been such a long time since I'd had ice cream....
I am frustrated with the prevalence of soy in so many "health" foods nowadays.

I am also extremely soy intolerant. I cook with unsweetened plain almond milk but I drink rice milk because the almond milk has too much fat. I have found a few recipes that won't work with almond milk but most do and I bake a lot!! I tried goat milk and had a bad reaction to it and really don't like the taste.
